Top Fighting Stances for Street Fights

It will help you stay safe on the streets

Maintaining a good fighting stance is the key to winning any street fight. Apart from helping you maintain balance, it will enable you to move in any direction you want and block punches. In this article, we’ll discuss the top fighting stances for street fights.

Any stance that lets you fight from exactly where you’re in is the best fighting stance.

Confused? Let me explain this with a few examples.

Assume that you’re side-facing the attacker when he approaches you. In such a scenario, you can smash his face with your elbow. Or, if you have your hands up, you can hammer fist their mouth with your dominant hand.

If you have your hands lower and don’t have the time to put them up, you can strike low at the attacker’s private parts.

Or, if you’re leaning against a wall as the attacker comes face to face, you can elbow him in the chest, head butt in the face, or strike low with your fists.

The same argument goes for kids and teenagers.

Let’s assume your little one is going to school with a backpack on its shoulders. As a bully approaches, your child can hammer fist him in the chest, strike low with knee strikes and/or opt for low self defense kicks before he can get hurt.

Practice fighting from any position

Keep in mind that you can learn to fight from any position.

Practice is the key here.

Make sure to practice fighting from as many positions as you can. Practice fighting from a seated position, lying on your back, being on your knees and leaning against the wall.

The more self defense positions you’ve practiced in, the better are your chances of coming out unhurt from a street fight.

Another thing you want to do is to fight using simple principles.

Once you’ve learned how to do that, you’ll always be in a position to catch a potential attacker off his guard. That’s because a lot of attackers don’t expect their “victims” to be able to strike from any position.

This makes them vulnerable to counterattacks.
