In this article, we’ll cover a not so common attack: Self defense against a wall pin.
Imagine you’re walking home from work one night and the next thing you know, you feel someone come up behind you. And before you have time to react, they have you pinned against the wall. To say it’s a scary situation to be in is an understatement.
Being in a confined area during an attack is less than ideal. Your movements are limited, you feel trapped and there are less openings for you to get away. Not only that, but your attacker is fully pressed against you which is enough for anyone to go into panic mode.
While it does seem like an impossible situation to get out of, there is a way for you to get out of this situation. Since it’s a possible situation that can happen during attacks, learning the defense technique against being pinned to a wall is a good thing to know.
Self Defense Tips against Wall Pin – Something you Should Learn
A wall pin is when your attacker has you pinned against the wall with one hand and is attempting to hit you with the other. Since your attacker is most likely gripping you by your collar and is close to your chin, a common strike he might go for is the uppercut.
You want to avoid that from happening. Therefore, you can attempt to trap his hand to your body. This will block any attempts for him to strike you. When you manage to pin his hand to your body, you need to act quickly. Strike your attacker to the face with an open hand palm strike.
While you’re fighting back, you want to move your head away from the center-line. This will make it harder for your attacker to aim your face should he attempt to hit you. You want to continue striking your attacker with simple but effective self defense strikes.
Do this until you are safe and sound.
