When you’re faced with an attacker in a street fight, you’re bound to get punched. Since your attacker is most likely bigger and taller than you, chances are he will try to punch you in the face.
He has better range and carries more weight behind his punch, so it’s normal that he will try to knock you out with a punch.
However, there are ways where you can avoid this from happening. One of the main things you can do to avoid getting punched by your attacker is not staying still.
By moving around, you’re making it harder for your opponent to take you down. His aim will always be off since you won’t stay in the same place long.
Remember: the key is to avoid getting hit so you can escape the situation without injury. While moving around and not staying still is a great way to avoid getting punched, it’s not smart to do this for a long period of time.
With your attacker being larger and stronger than you, he will eventually be able to grab you and strike you.
Therefore, another great tactic to avoid getting punched is by blocking your opponent’s strikes. Now this might be a bit more difficult since your opponent is larger than you, however, you can still attempt at trying to trap your opponent.
If you do manage to block your opponent’s strikes and trap him, make sure to strike him quickly. This will not only create the element of surprise because your opponent won’t see it coming, but it will also give you the upper hand.
As always, make sure to assess the situation quickly, defuse it you can and if you really are being attacked and need to defend yourself, put all your strength behind each strike so you get the desired impact.
