This could save you from getting stabbed
Knife attacks are becoming more common with each passing day. Not only in London which is proclaimed as the “knife-attack” capital of the world. Or in China where knife attacks are on the rise. The US, too, is seeing a surge. So, it’s crucial that you know how to apprehend a knife attack.
Doing so requires you to be aware of potential red flags.
Firstly, if someone is getting too close to you and has his hands concealed, you need to pick that up as a sign that something is about to go wrong.
That’s also true if the potential attacker is patting his back while he’s walking toward you. Both of these are signs of an impending knife attack.
Another thing you need to keep an eye on is the attacker’s body language.
Is he being too aggressive as he walks towards you? Is he angling off while talking to you? Do you sense an awkwardness in the way he’s talking? Is he keeping his distance? If your answer to any of these questions is a “Yes”, there’s an excellent chance a knife attack is impending.

What if you end up missing the red flags?
In case the attacker gets too close and you can’t outrun him, the best thing to do is to hit him wherever you can. This will allow you to catch him off guard.
More importantly, it will prevent the attacker from launching a surprise attack on you. Which, as many of you may know, can be deadly.
However, if worst comes to worst and the attacker pulls out a knife, the first thing you should do is trap his weapon hand. Then, once you’re sure he cannot stab you, strike back with all the force your body can muster.
If you have an improvised weapon nearby, now is the time to use it.
