A very questionable knife defense video
Recently, I was browsing on YouTube and found a very interesting knife defense video. Sadly, this article will expose fake martial artists. Because we this can’t be serious, right?
The video clip shows a martial art instructor and a student demonstrating knife defense techniques in front of a crowd of students.
The problem is that it seems like the knife defense techniques wouldn’t represent the reality of a knife attack.
If you’ve seen real knife attacks, they really don’t happen in slow motion like shown in this instructional video.
Take a look for yourself at this Russian martial artist:
These knife defense tactics are totally wrong!
No wonder the teenager is yawning at 00:38…These knife attacks are FAR from being realistic!
The martial art instructor was hilarious but the attacker was even more absurd! C’mon man! Is this really an attack?
Are they serious? This can’t be real, right!
Why is there self defense instructors teaching slow motion techniques that have nothing to do with real life attacks? How is that useful for the students present in that room?
It actually isn’t useful at all.
Please, make sure you don’t train for martial arts that way
It kind of creates a false sense of security when you think that you are prepared to face a knife attack, but then realize in the heat of the moment, that all you’ve learn really doesn’t apply to a real life knife attack.
Learn real self-defense instead
