You could be just walking on the street minding your own business when all of a sudden out of the blue, you’re faced with a group of people who want to fight with you for no apparent reason. It could be because you were looking at them the wrong way, the way you walked by ignoring them or just simply because they targeted you for no apparent reason.
Whatever the case, it could happen and you need to be prepared.
The first thing to remember is to stay calm. You don’t want to make the situation worst by showing reaction to your opponents. If they sense you’re nervous or scared, they can use that to their advantage.
So, stay calm. Take deep breaths and focus on showing your opponents that you mean no harm. Although the situation is stressful, freezing or going into panic mode is not something you can afford. You need to stay calm and be in the present moment. It’s the only way you can have a chance at getting out of the situation without getting injured.
Another important thing is to assess the environment around you. Be aware of your surroundings. Focus on where you are so you can find an exit strategy. You also want to keep your attackers talking as much as possible. By having them talk, you’re keeping their mind off the actual physical fight which is highly beneficial for you.
Concentrate on their body language and their movements. See how they are communicating with you. It can help you prepare and find a solution on how to get out of the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible.
