Bicep Pop for Self Defense

A bicep pop is one of the most effective self defense moves

Most people don’t know how to protect themselves with bare hands. That is worrying. It’s mostly people who don’t have anything in their hands to defend themselves whom attackers think of it as a fair game. Which is why in this article, we’re going to tell you how to do a bicep pop for self defense.

Actually, a bicep pop is a very effective self defense move.

That’s because an attacker cannot see this move. This makes it highly dangerous for him because it’s always the shot you don’t see that causes a lot of damage.

For this reason, if you’re ever in a tight spot during a fight, the first thought that should cross your mind is to catch your attacker off-guard with a bicep pop.

This video shows why it’s difficult to anticipate a bicep pop

Here’s what you need to do to launch a bicep pop.

Let’s say you and the attacker have clinched each other. Both of you are on each other’s throats, in a position where neither is willing to let go of the other.

In such a situation, all you have to do to launch a bicep pop is release your arm.

That’s right.

Release your arm and pop the attacker’s jaw with all the force you have in your body. This is assuming you’re fighting for your life here. Always keep in mind that force must parallel danger when using self defense tactics.

That said, here’s what such a move would do.

When you put all your weight behind the bicep pop, it will at least push the attacker backwards. A bicep pop might even push your attacker to the ground if a) he isn’t well grounded and b) you’ve put a considerable force into the counter-attack.

However, even if that doesn’t happen, a bicep pop would still be successful in pushing the attacker off of you. This will give you all the time you need to plan your next move.

You can follow up with additional strikes such as elbows, knee strikes, palm strikes, etc. Or you can keep on kicking the opponent until he is no longer a threat.

Practice how to do a bicep pop

You can learn how to bicep pop with a bob dummy.

Or, if you have a training partner, you can practice a bicep pop with them. Just make sure your partner has a protective helmet or safety guard. This is necessary to prevent him from getting hurt.
